Celebrity Fashion, Hit or Miss? Celebrity Fashion Blog

Posted on 26 September 2007 by Wendy O

You know those seek and find comics in the Sunday morning paper, where you have to find what is wrong or missing from the picture? Let’s take that same approach here with a celebrity fashion hit or miss! First up on the block is Ali Larter:

ali-larter.jpg

Ali Larter (source)

If you circled the gladiator sandals then give yourself a gold star! Seriously Ali, you have great legs…there’s no reason to frump up such a cute dress with the equivalent of flip flops. Trade ‘em up for a pair of pumps and you’ll be redeemed!

sarah-michelle-gellar-chanel.jpg

Look closely, this one is tricky! The answer here is the shiny peek-a-boo halter insert, just ruining this whole Chanel ensemble. I hate faux halter tops even more than real halter tops. Sigh…this goes to show that a label means nothing if the cut isn’t right.

Ha ha, fooled you! This was a trick photo…for this one, you had to circle what Jenny from the block did right. The answer here is that highly coveted current “it” bag of the season from Gucci. That thing is smokin’. Quite frankly, I’m over her “El Catante” 70’s house frau revival look…if she just lost either the hat or the sheer top or both then her look would be all aces.

So these were obvs all fashion misses in our book, but what do you think…hit or miss?

Get Little-Black-Dress Ready With Celebrity Stylist Cristina Ehrlich and Estee Stanley

Posted on 25 September 2007 by Angelique

 photo3.jpg

The hottest fall fashions are here, but one simple way every woman can spice up her wardrobe is to make the most of her must-have little black dress.  No one knows how to make a little black dress fit any occasion better than celebrity stylists Cristina Ehrlich and Estee Stanley. In an exclusive partnership with Degree® Women Ultra Clear and Us Weekly, the stylists are sharing their expertise and offering women everywhere the chance to attend the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Party and a little-black-dress fashion consultation fit for the stars.

As celebrity stylists and fashion designers of the popular “Miss Davenporte” clothing line, Ms. Erhlich and Ms. Stanley are no strangers to creating the perfect look. From Eva  Mendes, Penelope Cruz and Demi Moore to Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen, their collaborative efforts have rendered some of the most memorable red-carpet looks. Now the dynamic duo is sharing accessory tips to help transform a little black dress – from work attire or a first-date outfit to a girls-night-out get-up.

“Dress it up, dress it down. That’s the beauty of a little black dress. It’s the most versatile piece,” says Ehrlich. “By choosing the right accessories, a woman can reinvent her little black dress time and time again.”

“They just need to avoid the ultimate little black dress fashion faux pas – deodorant white marks,” adds Stanley.

Here are a few of Ehrlich and Stanley’s favorite little black dress accents:

• Get red-carpet ready by adding a jewel-toned clutch with matching stilettos; colors like
amethyst, emerald and sapphire are fall’s hottest hues.

• Rock out a little black dress by adding bold metallic jewelry. Think multiple strand necklaces and add a hot pair of platform heels or metallic boots for a look that screams “rocker-chic.”

• Glam up a little black dress by adding a strand of pearls (not like grandma’s) and a pair of
classy black heels for any evening event.

• Add the ultimate accessory that compliments every little black dress - Degree Women Ultra Clear. The anti-perspirant/deodorant is a must-have for any little black dress owner that wants to be white-mark free. It goes on clear and stays clearer.

Also enter the “Little Black Dress Ultimate Red Carpet Treatment Sweepstakes” for a chance to win a trip to the Us Weekly Spring ’08 Hot Hollywood Party and a fashion consultation by Ehrlich and Stanley. The Return of Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City Movie

Posted on 24 September 2007 by Wendy O

The “Sex” Girls in Full Effect

I haven’t been this excited about a TV show-turned-movie since Reno 911: Miami. Filming has officially begun for the most talked about, the most anticipated and the most fashion conscious movie on the minds of all 20-40 something hip chicks.  Ladies, I give you “Sex and the City: The Movie.” Just kidding, I don’t know what the title is yet, but how exciting is this?

Now folks, I have been to New York and most good looking women there in their late 30’s and early 40’s don’t look this good on a daily basis, but it’s always fun to dream right? For example, you wouldn’t see a chick getting on the subway on a Tuesday afternoon wearing this, right?

carrie-bradshaw-hibiscus.jpg

Usually gals with that much fashion moxy have their own chauffered drivers, but I digress.

Either way, I’m glad to have Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda up on the big screen showing us how to work it. Most of the other characters are already on board (including some much talked about new characters, like an assistant for Carrie played by Jennifer Hudson).

So…are you going to go see it, or wait until it comes out on cable TV? Is this just the beginning, and is there a Soprano’s movie in the future? Let us know what you think!
