As usual, Bagdley Mischka didn’t let me down during fashion week. Ladylike and elegant, the 2008 Spring runway collection was one part movie star fabulous and one part retro-chic. Think of what Audrey Hepburn would wear today if she was vacationing in Cannes…feminine trenches, belted pencil skirts and flowy trapeze dresses were standouts on the runway.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s an entire collection that leaves you thinking “who would really wear that?” As much as I love John Galliano, come on…sometimes designers like Galliano just create a clothing line that is more art than fashion.

However, Bagdley Mischka never seems to forget that just because it’s high fashion doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be wearable…everything on their collection realistically would translate to the real world (and not just the red carpet, but the office, the mall, whatever). And that’s the mark of a truly great designer…check out all of Bagdley Mischka’s Spring 2008 collection for a taste of new age ladylike style.
