Mad about Plaid: Celebrity Style Plaids

Posted by Angelique on January 09, 2008

Bust out your vintage Burberry everyone…plaid is hot like a toaster! Tartan looks are popping up everywhere, but particularly in the form of jackets, coats and even shawl-like wraps. Observe:

Ooh, I just got a middle school flashback…I wonder where my pseudo-grunge era flannel is…anywho, in any way, shape or form, plaid is super hot right now. Go shopping in your own closet and utilize the plaid you already have:

1) Plaid skirts: Pay homage to Britney circa 2002 and whip up a little school-girl ensemble. Nix the knee socks and go for textured tights and knee high boots instead.

2) Plaid coats: If you are going to buy a new one, go for a peacoat for maximum use, or go for a trendy retro look and buy a cropped jacket with 1950’s era details like on Carrie Underwood.

3) Accessories: Purses, scarves and even plaid flats are an easy and effortless way to add a little tartan to your day. Unless you are going to a football game or are a shepherdess though, don’t attempt the shawl look.

Score these celebrity-style looks for yourself at Old Navy with these great deals!
