Pop star Katy Perry has an interview and photo spread in the April issue of Esquire magazine, and she sets a lot of things straight.

For one, she thinks that she won’t be an icon like Madonna or Gwen Stefani, but that’s fine with her. And, after breaking up with Gym Class Heroes front man Travis McCoy, she’s not quite ready to jump back into the dating pool again. But maybe she’d fancy another fellow musician. She said to Esquire, “I have a soft spot for musicians.”

As for Perry’s unique fashion sense, she describes her style as “Lucille Ball meets Bob Mackie.” But the fashion shoot for Esquire is a far cry from dressing up as an egg, as she has done in the past. The sultry photos show off Perry’s curvaceous figure in a series of hot looking outfits that threaten to set the pages on fire.

As for speculation about her love life, Perry acknowledges that she was out in a group that included Paris Hilton’s ex, Benji Madden. She tells Esquire, “Benji is a nice young fellow, but my heart really belongs to Kitty Purry,” her cat.
