Katie Holmes, actress and wife of Tom Cruise has recently confirmed that she will appear on the July 23 episode of So You Think You Can Dance. That date marks the series’ 100th episode. Holmes recently told MTV that she is an avid supporter of promoting music and dance to young people, telling MTV, “I think it’s important to let kids experience music and dancing and singing and the arts and also sports. This is the next generation, and I think it’s important to give them every opportunity to grow and discover what it is that they like.”

Holmes will appear on So You Think You Can Dance to promote a new non-profit organization called the Dizzy Feet Foundation, which provides scholarships in dance for under-served and disadvantaged young people. The foundation also aims to create a nationwide dance school accreditation program.
In the show, Holmes will perform an homage to Judy Garland.
In recent weeks, Holmes has been in Melbourne, Australia filming a new movie Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, a thriller based on a 1973 television movie in which a couple and the man’s daughter share a house that is inhabited by demons.
