Nicole Richie and long time boyfriend Joel Madden are engaged to be married. The two have been together for several years and have two children together: two-year-old daughter Harlow and six-month-old son Sparrow.

Richie recently sat for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres for DeGeneres’ talk show and dished on what’s been going on in her life. “I’ve been on the road. I just got home, and so it’s really going to be now that’s the time for me to sit down and think about what I want,” she told Ellen. The two have not set a date yet, but plan to in the very near future.

Richie is 28 and Madden is 31. Richie said that becoming a mother is what made her realize she was ready for marriage.

In addition to being a mother, Richie is busy with her own line of jewelry, and she recently posed nude for an upcoming issue of Harper’s Bazaar along with Kim Kardashian and Selma Blair. The issue of Bazaar has the theme of celebrating diversity. She also recently went to London, where she premiered her new clothing line, the Winter Kate collection. The clothes are said to be slouchy, silky, and “very LA,” and include kimono style jackets and long flowing dresses perfect for the beach.
