Stella McCartney was recently chosen from among top British fashion designers as Adidas’ creative director for London’s 2012 Olympic Games. The fashion industry star will create Adidas’ athletic wear for the British Olympic and Paralympic teams, marking the first time a top designer has created official athletic kits for the Olympic games.

Said McCartney, “As a British fashion designer it is an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be creative director of Team GB as the hosting nation of the London 2012 Olympic Games.” The gig with Adidas isn’t the first time McCartney has shared her celebrity fashion style designs with the athletic wear giant. She created Adidas by Stella McCartney in 2005 as well.

McCartney has a busy year ahead of her. In addition to her work for the Olympics, she and husband Alasdhair Willis are expecting their fourth child later this year.
