Stella McCartney may be one of the world’s top fashion designers, but she recently admitted that she isn’t confident in discussing her work. Saying she chose the fashion industry because it was something about which she was passionate, McCartney recently told Observer Food Monthly magazine, “When I fill passport forms I put ‘design.’ I don’t say fashion. But don’t get me wrong, I love my job!”
The 38-year-old fashion industry star also said that watching Doris Day in movies inspired her sense of design, particularly Day’s transformation from tomboy to “gorgeous girl in a ballgown.” But it isn’t all ballgowns for this pregnant mother of three. McCartney recently said that she was not thrilled with the fact that her oldest two children are enrolled in a private school. She herself was educated at a local comprehensive school, and values the lessons she learned there about the lives that most people live.
