Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan Holloway on hit television show “Mad Men” says that she has picked up some of Joan’s fashion style in real life. Clothing designers for the show give Joan a tailored look, while Hendricks says she is much more of a romantic in her own style choices.

Hendricks has drawn attention for her curvaceous figure and gained a lot of attention in January after The New York Times ran a fashion stylist’s critique of her look at the 2010 Golden Globes awards. The quote, “You don’t put a big girl in a big dress” ran next to a photo that had been altered to make her look larger.

Hendricks’ husband, bloggers, and much of the internet was abuzz for days, trashing the critique and praising Hendricks for having a celebrity fashion style that did not depend on her being stick thin.
