Here’s a look you can wear whether you’re 17 or 70: the cable knit poncho like the one recently photographed on Dakota Fanning at the Los Angeles International Airport. (I want a red bag like hers, too!) If it’s cut properly, it won’t overwhelm petite figures, and it won’t cause excess bulk over fuller figures. The one she’s wearing is by All Saints, and you can get the look for less.
The Vila Contrast Trim Knitted Poncho is made in a waffle knit design front, and a ribbed finish in back. The asymmetric drape is slimming, and it’s made of easy care acrylic, so you can toss it in the washer. The button fastening at the shoulder and contrast trim give it a slightly dressy look. Ponchos go great with skinny jeans and leggings, but they can also look great over a sleeveless (or even spaghetti strap) sheath dress. Whatever you wear under it shouldn’t be too full or voluminous, but other than that, feel free to get creative!
