The American Idol host sported a striking Gucci jumpsuit with major bling at the launch of Gucci’s children’s line, while the Princess of Monaco went bare at a dinner for the brand.

Here are two takes on a dramatic jumpsuit by Gucci. On the one hand, American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez paired her black and gold ensemble with lots of gold jewelry and long, wavy hair. In a more Euro take on the look, Princess Charlotte of Monaco let her jumpsuit take center stage, foregoing extra jewelry and keeping her hair swept back and close to the head, for a look with an 80s edge to it. Both wore the same T-strap heeled sandals, yet the looks were strikingly different.

Maybe it’s just because I lived through the 80s the first time, but I have to say I like Jennifer Lopez’ look a bit better. What about you? Would you go edgy-80s or glam-70s with this Gucci outfit?
