Foley + Corinna Small Convertible Leather Tote, $198, saksfifthavenue.com

Handbags are my true weakness. Okay, and shoes, and accessories, okay FASHION. But handbags, I love. To get more mileage out of a bag purchase, I’ve been looking to buy one of the fall’s convertible bags. You know, something that goes from shoulder to tote, or hobo to hip-slung with a quick switch of a strap. I love the color, texture and bohemian simplicity of the Kooba tied convertible hobo bag. And I feel like I could honestly carry this Foley + Corinna convertible small leather tote in red almost every day. It goes from shoulder to tote so flawlessly, and the scale is just adorable.

Seymour, spoke to a group of editors about her own transformative experience with Chantelle.

“The first time I put a corset on, I was really impressed with my waist and my bust.” But the fit technology of Chantelle impressed Seymour. “I was wearing Chantelle before they even considered using me,” she said.

Chantelle CEO Patrice Kretz said the emphasis for the brand in the coming year would be on the enlargement of their their product range to include more exclusive and luxurious fashion-forward styles.

Seymour had this to say; “A lot of women think that wearing a bra ages you, but it doesn’t age you,” she continued. “It just makes you look sexy.”

Christian Lacroix with his new 57th Street store—his first in New York—was well worth the wait. “What a fantastic city,” said the designer at his evening opening party. “So alive, so young.” An entire spectrum models—came out to fête Lacroix at a rooftop dinner at the Gramercy Park Hotel.

Fashion Designer Tip of the Day, Golden Girl, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

Posted on 05 September 2006 by Angelique

Gold is the metallic shade of the season as witnessed everywhere from YSL to Christian Dior. It’s never too early to start thinking about all those fabulous parties you’ll be invited to this upcoming holiday season so start planning now so you’ll know exactly what to wear. Make sure to choose slightly muted gold tones to avoid looking like a giant Christmas decoration.

This strapless party dress by Adrianna Papell isn’t overly flash and is perfect for that first date at a fancy restaurant or intimate cocktail party. It has ornate caviar beading embellishments and a removable metallic ribbon to tie at the waist, or if you’re well endowed, just under the bust. Available from Nordstrom for $158.

If you want something a little less feminine and flirty, and a little more edgy, check out this Jacquard Shift Dress by Hamish Morrow. This peach and gold silk blend jacquard hits just below the knee. Wear with leggings and black long sleeves as shown here or wear on its own and tie a black satin sash around the waist to give it a bit of shape. This is perfect for those with a boyish figure and is similar to the YSL dress – sans bow of course – as above. Finish the look off with a belted trench coat, styled to perfection to reveal just a hint of metallic peeping through. Available from Net-a-Porter for £423.83.

For those in a sexy mood and killer legs, this Sophie 3/4 Sleeve dress by Foley for Foley + Corinna is a must buy. Wear it with flats when meeting up with the girls for a coffee during the day and then slip into stilettos at night for maximum impact at the hottest clubs. Available at shopbop.com for $291.

Girls with curves and a bust to boot should showoff in this backless number by Massimo Danieli. This figure hugging dress is sure to dazzle at even the glitziest cocktail party. Available from Yoox for $276.12.
