The Top Five Haute Trends For Spring & Summer 2009

Posted on 01 April 2009 by Jacqueline H

I love to anticipate what is around the next corner. We have new seasons coming – my two favorite – spring and summer. Yes it’s when all things begin to blossom and bloom. And we look forward to those summer days sitting next to the pool and sipping iced tea. Ahh bliss. But what are the up and coming trends for this season in ‘09? Well here are my top five predictions for the spring and summer of ‘09!

1. Everything shall bloom in color!

Sienna Rose offers a wonderful array of colorful ensembles for spring from their Mushka Collection

The Sak has beautiful leather handbags in lime green for the season – Ashbury Leather Small Shopper $179

Yes color is going to be really hot this spring and summer! And it will even leak into fall fashion. But we are going to see very bright colors and floral pieces for dresses and tops. Also accessories are going to be very bright. So handbags will be bright in oranges, cayennes, greens and reds. And other accessories such as scarves will also be a great item to add to your collection. I love Whitehorn from the UK for their very bright and colorful pieces.

2. Keep it basic

Keep it basic this summer with the t-shirt, I like KStreet NYC – $69.00

Keeping it basic means having a collection of t-shirts for the summer. Again, having the three essential colors, black, gray and white. With crew and v-necks is the way to go. Don’t forget to add your favorite pair of jeans to your wardrobe this season also.

3. Stay sweet and florally fresh

Manuel Canovas, the internationally esteemed French textile house, introduces a quintet of fine fragrances, Les Fantaisies Parfumees. Perfect for Spring and Summer.

You have to stay fresh this summer with a great summer fragrance. One of my personal favorites is a great designer brand by textile designer – Manual Canovas. With over several fragrances to choose from, all with very floral or citrus scents. You will be smelling gorgeous in no time.

4. Spring into step

coach
Coach offers a great variety of colorful options for spring and summer

A great pair of spring shoes or sandals are hot for the season. I love what coach has to offer. And in a variety of styles and colors!

5. Stay glossy

Moroccanoil will keep your hair healthy and strong in the warmer months

Upkeep for your hair is essential in the warmer months. As drying is a huge factor. Try Moroccanoil to your treatments for shiny and healthy hair.

Get Your Tees On! And For Less! Get KStreet NYC In Your Spring Wardrobe!

Posted on 25 February 2009 by Jacqueline H

BASIC S/S V-NECK – $65.00

Basic and delicious all rolled up into one amazingly yummy 100% pima cotton Tee. The ultimate high-end Tee that will look as good as new wash after wash…promise! And available in a variety of cool t-shirt styles and the basic colors. Black, gray and white.

As 2009 begins to unfold, every fashionista of like must consider the current economy when crafting her New Years’ Resolutions. So what’s the first thing to go? Superfluous shopping! Even though the upcoming season’s runways were awash with feathers, fringe and faux, hippie-rocker hybrid chic will not be the “in” look for long. Don’t risk being yet another fashion victim of the year 2009! These days, there are much more important things to worry about and it’s not, What Not to Wear. An evolution is occurring amongst the trend-setters of our country and a new staple has emerged: the basic tee. Clink your glasses in high hopes for a better economy in 2009 and in the mean time, chuck the compulsive shopping habit and join celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Garner and Samantha Harris in keeping it real with the basic tee.

In this struggling economy, high fashion trend pieces are seen as superfluous and too-quick to make the What Not to Wear list. These days more and more people are sticking to what they know best: comfort and dependability. KStreet NYC T-Shirt Couture offers consumers just this!

The 81st Oscars Red Carpet! Award Season Ends With A True Night Of Hollywood Glamour!

Posted on 23 February 2009 by Jacqueline H

Well award season has finally come to end. And it could not have been more glamorous than Sunday nights 81st Oscars! The Red Carpet sizzled with the brightest stars in some of the most beautiful and timeless gowns yet! Join me as we reflect with this season’s 2009 Oscars Red carpet from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California!

Kate Winslet won for ‘Best Actress’ for The Reader. She looked all Hollywood glamour at the 81st Annual Academy Awards. From her hair, make-up and gown. Kate is not only raking the awards this season, she is also raking ‘best dressed’ on the Red Carpet. And for that my dear I crown you my favorite at the Oscars and for this year’s awards season!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie looked just fabulous on the Red Carpet! Our Hollywood sweet hearts and favorite couple surely looked sharpe and elegant individually, as well as together. Angelina in her gorgeous classic black gown. Also dazzled us with her emeralds which were truly divine. And Brad looked very dapper in his tuxe.

Newcomer Freida Pinto looked just beautiful in her electric blue Dior gown. She has come along way from the ‘Slum Dog’ backstreets of Bollywood. To Hollywood Red Carpet royalty. Slum Dog Millionaire swept most of the Oscars Sunday evening, including ‘Best Picture’.

Natalie Portman presented at the Oscars and looked stunning in this soft pink ensemble.

Beyonce Knowles took a very daring leap and wore this wonderfully brocaded gown in gold and black.

Robert Downey Jr. nominated as ‘Best Supporting Actor’ looked fantastic and sharpe with his wife on the Red Carpet.

The man of the evening Sean Penn won ‘Best Actor’ for Milk and shone brightly at the 81st Annual Academy Awards.
