Ana Locking · Spring 2011 Woman Shoe Collection

0 Comments 03 March 2011

Designer, artist, and photographer brings her unique artistic viewpoint to her Spring 2011 Woman Shoe Collection. The award-winning Spanish designer brings in a collection of teetering high heels, with heels that are cylindrical and very narrow, giving a needle-like quality. Made from materials like python and leather, they’re like nothing we’ve seen, and are a totally new look for 2011.

The collection is filled with more covered up sandals rather than the more spare, strappy sandals that wait for hot summer weather. Ankles and insteps are wrapped in fairly substantial straps, for a look that’s perfect for modern looks that mean business. One example that will probably sell out quickly is the solid black leather and python platform sandal. The design is new and fresh, yet it’s done in classic black, so it’s easy to incorporate into any spring wardrobe.

A number of other sandals are available in bright color combinations, including one leather and pythons sandal done in python and bright blue. This style is somewhat reminiscent of the Nicholas Kirkwood lattice suede platform pumps that Sarah Jessica Parker was photographed in so many times last spring. They’re bright and noticeable, yet versatile, and could easily be worn with evening wear or a casual dress and jacket combination.
