Christine Mighion, jewelry designer from Indiana, realized her calling in jewelry design after taking a metalsmithing class at a local museum. Soon after, she started selling her jewelry at local galleries, designs that go beautifully with favorite old jeans and a tee, as well as with a dressed up look.
She is also dedicated to being socially and environmentally responsible, choosing suppliers associated with ethical and environmentally safe mining practices. She also supports national charitable organizations like the Ronald McDonald House, as well as arts organizations and environmental organizations.
All her pieces are made from recycled 14K gold and stones that have been responsibly mined. Prices range from under $100 to $670.
A perfect example of “goes with everything” beauty are her 14K Gold Lotus Petal and Tanzanie Hoop earrings. Each gold lotus petal features a dainty 2.5 mm tanzanite stone. The petals are all handmade from molten gold. The petals and hoops have been hammered to have a gorgeous matte satin finish for a beautiful, modern look. These would be at home with your everyday work clothes as well as your casual weekend pieces.
A perfect Valentine’s gift would be Christine Mighion’s 14K Gold Lotus Petal and Tanzanite Necklace. Beautifully coordinated with the earrings, this 18 inch, 14K gold ball chain features a 3 mm tanzanite stone on a gold lotus petal. Because each petal is made by hand, no two are alike. All lotus petals have a matte satin finish.
Speaking of Valentine’s Day, wouldn’t it be fabulous to receive this 14K Gold and Rhodolite Garnet Stacking Ring Set? Made from recycled 14K gold, one of the bands has on 3 mm garnet and the other band has one 3 mm garnet and another 2.5 mm garnet. Bands are 2 mm wide and have been hammered to a matte satin finish. You could wear this every day and it would never look out of place.
Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it, so it’s time to start dropping some hints!

Pairing tights and socks with sandals… are you crazy? Maybe I am, but designers have been sending this look down the runways for seasons now and it’s a great way to get out of a winter boot rut! Besides, black opaques go from basic to killer when worn with seriously aggressive platforms and mini skirt. Looking to make your sandals look even more cozy? Try textured tights, like a fine ribbed wool pair. For evening, experiment with semi-sheer tights or ones with a slight pattern like swiss dots. Stay out of granny territory by avoiding anything too sheer or nude. Whatever you choose, keep the shoes and the tights in the same color family to create the illusion of one long line. Whether it’s all blacks or all electric blue is up too you! Once the weather starts to turn a bit milder, try swapping out tights for socks. Burberry Prorsum and Rochas showed models wearing scrunched down socks with sandals. Keep the socks and the shoes a nude or beige color to keep from shortening your leg too much. Now that you’ve got the legwear down, you can’t just throw on any old sandal. Opt for tall, chunky heeled or platform sandals; you’ll need them to balance out the heft of the tights. Anything too strappy and delicate will be overwhelmed.

It was just last year that Pakistani sisters Romaana and Saifra Zia left their banking jobs to create their lifelong dream of designing the perfect luxury handbags. They not only look great, they’re functional and versatile. The Nyla Noor premiere collection consists of some very beautiful bags made from the best in leather and luxury hardware.
The Port Vell satchel is the perfect caryall. It’s beautiful, and you’ll use it for years to come. The trim features a wave shape that is the Nyla Noor signature.
El Born Hipster is a great young style that can be changed into four different variants. The Mercat (”Market” in Spanish) is no fewer than five bags in one, going from day to night without missing a beat. The Hobo Nouveau is a sophisticated design with the finest in luxury hardware.
Inspired by the architecture and beauty from world capitals like Barcelona and Paris, Nyla Noor is a name you’re sure to be hearing a lot about this year.

Disaya is a relatively new British label that is both playful and sophisticated, reflective of the electric vibe designer’s London home.
A perfect example is the Disaya spidy bangle in gold and black. Jewelry this season is bold, and this bracelet is a perfect example. For a night out on the town (and lucky you if London is that town!), the Disaya silver shiny evening dress is part mod, part fairy tale, a gorgeous young look that would look great topped with a knee-length, black faux fur evening coat.
The Disaya teddy necklace is a long gold chain with a tough-cute teddy bear pendant. He’s wearing this season’s metal spike look to show that tough and cute are not mutually exclusive!
Disaya means edgy designs for the girl who doesn’t want to look cookie-cutter or unsophisticated. No wonder this line is worn by celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Amy Winehouse

Statement jewelry is big this winter. Women have put away their small, delicate chains and bracelets and brought out the pieces that people notice, and wrap rings are a perfect example of statement jewelry for the hand. These complex, eye-catching rings go the extra mile in decorating your fingers.
One perfect example is this silver metal wrap ring by Freedom at Topshop. With black enamel and crystal stone detailing, this ring looks dressy and confident, and goes great with your more serious work clothes, or with dressy outfits you’d wear on a date.
If you want a big variety of wrap rings to choose from, then Shopstyle.com has loads of them, like the Janna Conner gold large pear wire wrapped golden shadow Swarovski ring. In gold plate with a gorgeous caramel colored Swarovski crystal, you’ll wear this with jeans, with a suit, or out to dinner. The oversized ASOS Smooth Wrap-around Metal Ring has simpler design, but is just as stunning.
The Oasis Stone Wrap Look Ring is about as close as you can get to a little tiara for your hands. The swirled wrap style is very flattering to most hands, lengthening the fingers and giving a classy, elegant look.
If you’re loving your bomber jacket or studded boots this winter (and who wouldn’t?) you’ll find that this sterling silver dragon that slithers up your finger a striking addition to a slightly “tough-girl” look. Designed by John Hardy, this ring is for the woman who wants to make a statement of unapologetic up-to-the-minute style.
If you want to add a little star power to your accessories, this Blu Bijoux Star Ring is perfect. Made with shimmery Austrian crystals on silver plate, this fabulous ring is one that your friends will all wish they had first.

It isn’t just rings that go big this season, it’s bracelets too. It only makes sense that heavier clothing works better with heavier jewelry this winter. Cuff bracelets are accessorizing outfits everywhere, and lucky for us they exist in every possible price range.
Here’s proof that “substantial” doesn’t mean unfeminine. The Isharya 18-karat gold plated filigree cuff with cubic zirconia and freshwater pearls is a lovely filigree bracelet that can hold its own with the dressiest winter outfits you can put together. You’ll probably want to minimize other jewelry when you wear a piece this fabulous.
Another “statement” cuff is this hammered brass one by Subversive. It features a cluster of vintage charms and is adjustable to fit perfectly. Made from brass, faux pearls, vintage charms, and a vintage brooch, it measures 3.5 inches wide.
For the girl who likes the unexpected, here’s a slightly retro metal cuff that’s semi-adjustable. From Forever 21, it has a curvy, hourglass shape, and is dotted with a stippled design. It measures 3.75 inches in width and 6.25 inches in length and is available in silver or gold finish.
Another bold, feminine look is this wide black leather cuff with rhinestones from Lori’s Shoes. It’s seriously crusted in rhinestones so that it catches the light and sparkles. But it’s paired with no-nonsense black leather, giving it gravitas and proving you’re a grown-up. Glamorous, but edgy, it’s a great inexpensive splurge or a great Valentine’s Day gift.

It’s a jolly new year and I can’t believe it is already 2010. With a new year comes exciting new discoveries. To kick of the new decade I’ve scouted out a collection accessories from Aspinal of London. You’re probably already familiar with Smythson’s heritage brand of diaries and travel wallets. But you perhaps you’ve not heard of Aspinal of London. Although fairly new and they do not claim to be a ‘heritage’ brand. Aspinal was founded on the fundamental premise of offering beautiful, quality objects of unsurpassed quality and design handmade by genuine craftsmen at an affordable price. You’ll find all sorts of leather goods in the collection including travel wallets, jewelry boxes, handbags, diaries, as well as exquisitely bound leather photo albums and frames. Aspinal’s tailored luxury and classic accessories will see you through many seasons. I love the small details that add a supreme element of style that make it special. With any of these accessories you’ll be instantly transformed you into the chicest of Sloane Rangers.
My top picks from the collection include the Paris Bag (as shown in Smooth Brown, $490). The Paris bag is a traditional satchel named after the city, (not the celebutante). The perfectly ladylike bag is handmade from vegetable tanned smooth calf leather. It comes in several shades including embossed croc finishes, but I love this classic shade of brown best. Inside you’ll find a grosgrain lining with an enormous compartment and zipped pocket for stashing your most precious objects (cel phone and Dior gloss!). This bag can also be monogrammed with gold foil or blind embossing upon the leather luggage tag. A fun and fab accessory for all of you Anglophiles out there (myself included). The Aspinal of London Brit Cuff Clutch (Deep Shine Italian Patent Calf, $210.00). Show your colours with this majestic and flamboyant interpretation of the Union Jack. This clutch wallet is transformed into a cheeky wristlet and embellished with a bejeweled grosgrain cuff. Lastly, the Poppy Bag with Cross Body Strap (as shown in Black Deep Shine Italian Patent Calf, $295.00). Yes cross body bags are one of this season’s must-haves. This navy patent leather number is made in Italy by a small family tannery. It is lined in grosgrain and secured with a signature Aspinal gold clasp. Wear the strap crossed over or as a clutch for evening. Simply lovely adorned with one of Aspinal’s colorful key fobs.
If you love these Aspinal accessories as much as we do you’ll want to enter to win the Paris bag in our New Years giveaway at TheFind Blog.
