Posted on 30 October 2009 by Angelique

The cast of New Moon will be touring shopping malls across America to promote the sequel to hit movie Twilight that opens in November. On their tour, the stars of the flick will be joined at some venues by some of the musical artists who contributed to the Twilight and New Moon soundtracks. Artists include Sea Wolf, Death Cab for Cutie, Band of Skulls, and Anya Marina, all of whom will play at the kick-off of the tour in Hollywood on November 6.

In other news, the hair stylist to Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson, Stuart Gavert of Gavert Atelier in Beverly Hills has told In Style the secrets to Robert Pattinson’s ability to attract women. Saying that Pattinson strikes a balance between timid and bold, he asserts that co-star Kristin Stewart is strongly attracted to Pattinson’s slight shyness. “He can turn the charm on and off,” says Gavert.

Oh, and the fact that Pattinson is very good-looking and photogenic helps too, according to Gavert.

For those fans who simply can’t wait for New Moon to be released, you can listen to the music from New Moon right now on MySpace. Go to the official Twilight MySpace page and scroll down beyond the photos of the stars, and you’ll see all the tunes in the standard MySpace music player.

Lindsay Lohan not Paid by Emanuel Ungaro

Posted on 26 October 2009 by Angelique

Lindsay Lohan, wearing ripped tights, looks strained as she leaves a restaurant in West Hollywood

Lindsay Lohan

It was revealed over the weekend that Lohan’s high profile internship with Emanuel Ungaro was unpaid. The New York Post reported on its infamous Page Six that Lohan paid for her own hotel and flight to Paris to appear at Paris Fashion Week. But she was only unpaid if you are talking about cash. She reportedly accepted $100,000 of Ungaro clothing as payment.

Fox 411 reported that “Ungaro is not paying her at all to be a consultant for them. Her team is working to get Lindsay some form of payment from the fashion house, but right now they will only give her free clothes.”

Some in the fashion world were shocked by the pairing up of the tabloid magnet Lohan with the Italian designer. Naeem Khan said when told about the hook-up, “Esteban is a great friend of mine, and I think it’s a very dangerous move that they’re making.”

In other Lohan news, rumor has it that the aspiring singer has been dropped by Casablanca, her record label, “put[ting] their working relationship with her on hold.” Lohan’s third studio album, Spirit in the Dark, has been under production for over a year. There’s been no comment from Lohan or her “people” about the rumored record label dumping.

2009 MTV Video Music Awards - Show

Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

Twilight fans continue to celebrate the awesomeness of their favorite film after the movie took home several awards Sunday night at the Spike TV Scream Awards 2009. This awards show is dedicated to horror, fantasy, and science fiction feature films. The first Spike TV Scream Awards were in 2006.

The big winners included mega hits Twilight and Transformers 2. Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob in the Twilight series picked up a Scream Award for “Breakout Male Performance.” He also picked up the trophies that were awarded to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson who didn’t attend the ceremony. Stewart and Pattinson won Best Fantasy Actors. Lautner introduced some much anticipated New Moon footage to satisfy those fans who can’t wait for the film to come out in November.

The frighteningly sexy Megan Fox won the award for Best Sci-Fi Actress and delivered a surprisingly sweet acceptance speech that seemed to be designed to put her back in the good graces of her Transformers director Michael Bay. “I am completely grateful to everyone involved with this franchise,” she said, referring to the Transformers movies.

Best Horror Movie went to Drag Me to Hell, while Twilight won Best Fantasy Movie. Best Comic Book Movie went to Watchmen. True Blood won the award for Best Television Show.

Worlds Collide: Rivers Cuomo to team up with Katy Perry

Posted on 20 October 2009 by Angelique

Katy Perry arrives at a Hollywood Hills party with a Russell Brand look-a-like

Katy Perry

Pop Singer Katy Perry will team up with Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo to write songs. Buzznet broke the story after speaking with Cuomo. Weezer’s seventh album, titled Raditude is to be released in a few weeks. His collaboration with Perry will be on her sophomore album, on which Perry will also record with the likes of All-American Rejects and Lil Wayne.

Perry and Cuomo have a mutual like for the Beach Boys.

Perry and Russell Brand have a mutual like for each other, it appears. They were seen kissing in Los Angeles last week at a party. This was after having spent time together in the most romantic city in the world, Paris during Fashion Week. And a stream of Brand’s exes also took a moment to give their opinion of the Brand-Perry match. Perry, the daughter of evangelical Christian parents, is hoping to introduce Brand to her folks soon.

The couple’s favorite song is “Whatever Happens, I Love You,” by Steven Morrissey. Brand is having the chorus, “Cold loving prose, we stole each other’s clothes/But when all is said and done, it’s you I love” tattooed onto an unspecified part of his body.

Hot Halloween Costumes this Year are Celebrities

Posted on 15 October 2009 by Angelique

Angie Harmon Unveils Her New Milk Mustache Ad

Halloween is the one day a year you’re allowed to be anyone you want to be. And according to costume retailers, a lot of people want to be celebrities, even celebrities who are no longer among the living.

Here are 5 more celebrity costumes that are proving popular for 2009, in alphabetical order.

Perhaps the easiest celebrity costume if you happen to be a middle aged dude is Billy Mays. If you’re clean shaven, you’ll need some facial hair substitute, add a big smile, thumbs up, and carry a bottle of OxyClean. Oh, and when you say “Trick or Treat,” say it really loud.

Evidently a lot of people this year are interested in dressing up like “The Octomom,” which sounds like a deep-sea creature, but is actually the mother of 14 (all under age 8) who had eight babies earlier this year. Another famous female that will inspire a lot of costume ideas this year is former vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

If you want to dress up as Kanye West, don’t forget the shades. And when that little kid in front of you tries to say “Trick or treat,” push in front of him before he can finish and demand your Halloween candy first. And finally, there are plenty of people both male and female who will be dressing up as Amy Winehouse. She may not have been as visible in 2009 as she was in 2008, but the costume potential is too huge to ignore.

Elle Magazine Cover features Katie Holmes

Sound Bites

Katie Holmes
-On family life: ?¢‚Ǩ?ìIn my own life, my whole world really revolves around family. I do what I need to do, but it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s like, ?¢‚ǨÀúHow is everybody else doing??¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ And it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù

-On life: as a working mom on the Broadway set of All My Sons: ?¢‚Ǩ?ìSuri would sit in my lap in the makeup chair. She?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢d hand the wig lady the bobby pins.?¢‚Ǩ?ì

-On fashion: ?¢‚Ǩ?ìI love Alaia, for sure. Stella McCartney. I like Ralph Lauren because I feel like it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s very American, and I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m pretty all-American, from Ohio. Isabel Marant and a new designer, Sari Gueron.

-On the genre of film she loves most:
?¢‚Ǩ?ìIt can be any genre. I even like vampire movies ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú they just have to be well done. I want to believe in the characters. The minute it starts to feel not real, I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m not interested.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù

Emily Blunt
-On adjusting to Hollywood life since moving from the UK: ?¢‚Ǩ?ìI feel the fear of the business creep under my skin in L.A. in a way that it doesn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t in England. It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s funny ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú I feel like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, unless you?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢re in Hollywood! It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s shameful how you have to look a certain way. Women are simply not allowed to grow old gracefully. That?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s why I love playing character parts, because I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m not pigeonholed into trying to remain young forever to play the ing?ɬ©nue or romantic lead.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù

Julianne Moore

-On types of characters she is drawn to: ?¢‚Ǩ?ìI think my connection to acting has been through reading. I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m interested in scripts. People ask me, ?¢‚Ǩ?ìWhat role are you dying to play??¢‚Ǩ¬ù It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s really, What story do I want to be in??¢‚Ǩ¬ù

Renee Zellweger
-On actresses from earlier eras that have influenced her: ?¢‚Ǩ?ìFor Leatherheads, I was thinking of Katharine Hepburn, the way she leaned forward with her shoulders back, speaking in her lower register the whole time. I like her confidence, her intelligence, her sense of entitlement. When I was making Chicago, I couldn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t stop watching the Marilyn [Monroe] videos. Not so much because of the sex kitten thing; it was more her vulnerability. That was a huge part of the Roxie character. But it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s not about emulating; it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s about a feeling.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù

-On whether a successful movie career requires sacrificing your personal life: ?¢‚Ǩ?ìA friend of mine couldn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t decide between moving to New York or staying in L.A., and another friend said, ?¢‚Ǩ?ìDo Everything!?¢‚Ǩ¬ù I thought, That?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s it, do everything.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù
Zoe Saldana
-On being known as a beautiful Hollywood actress: ?¢‚Ǩ?ìI?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m sorry, but it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s sexy to know that guys find you attractive. It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s empowering.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù
