Lifetime Digital, the ultimate digital source for women’s entertainment, escape and play, has launched the Project Runway show site on  myLifetime.com in conjunction with the official announcement of the 16 designers who will be featured during the program’s sixth season.  The series will make its much-anticipated debut on Lifetime Television Thursday, August 20, at 10 PM ET/PT, and seamlessly lead into Models of the Runway at 11PM ET/PT.

Host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors (top American fashion designer) and Nina Garcia (Fashion Director of Marie Claire Magazine), will guide the 16 new contestants as they showcase their design skills to see who makes the cut for Fashion Week.  Filmed in Los Angeles and New York, Project Runway also features influential guest judges from the worlds of fashion, music, film and television.

Lifetime Digital’s show site for the all-new Models of the Runway will launch this Thursday, July 16. Project Runway’s show site, upon launching on Thursday, July 9, immediately resulted in a 19% increase in daily traffic to myLifetime.com.

Synopsis: Coco Before Chanel is the story of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, who began her life as headstrong orphan, and through an extraordinary journey became the legendary couturier who embodied the modern woman and became a timeless symbol of success, freedom and style. The film portrays the formative years of Chanel’s life, the years of Chanel spent discovering and inventing herself.

Coco Before Chanel is directed by Anne Fontaine (La Fille de Monaco/The Girl From Monaco) from a screenplay by Anne Fontaine and Camille Fontaine, with collaboration of Christopher Hampton (Dangerous Liaisons), loosely based on L’irrégulière (Chanel and Her World: Friends, Fashion, and Fame) by Edmonde Charles-Roux. The film is produced by Philippe Carcassonne (La Fille De Monaco/The Girl Class) and Carole Scotta (Entre les murs/The Class).

The director of photography is Christophe Beaucarne (Paris, Paint or Make Love); the production designer is Olivier Radot (The Lover, Queen Margot, Gabrielle). The film is edited by Luc Barnier, with original costumes by Catherine Letterier (Cesar Award winner for Bon Voyage and the Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc). Alexandre Desplat (Academy Award nominee for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Queen) composed the score.

Davida Hall, with help from celebrity stylist Simone Harouche, has taken three celebrity looks: Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie, and Avril Lavigne, and demonstrated how those of us with more modest budgets can achieve the great looks without the big pricetags. The Christina Aguilera look is based on the classic American 1950’s pinup style, with eye-catching shoes, and form fitting dresses. This Mansfield by Stop Staring black halter dress features a slim fit, a halter tie, and cut-outs. Teamed with a pair of bright patent finish shoes and big sunglasses, the look is old school Hollywood at its best. $142.00

Nicole Richie’s style is slightly more bohemian. Now that she’s a mom, she wants to be comfortable for all the million tasks that bringing up a baby requires. This Candace Held “Vivian” green halter dress is made from vintage silk scarves. It features an empire waist and asymmetrical hem. $282.00

Avril Lavigne has more of a punk rock look, and she also has a very slim figure, meaning she can get away with volume and detail that might not work on a more curvaceous body. She can also wear dresses that are shorter than what many of us are comfortable with. But this look can be paired with black opaque tights to feel more covered up. This JL Marks Fringe Dress in bright pink is a great choice for the Avril Lavigne style. It is super short, with exaggerated fringe. Worn with a vintage 80s-look belt and black patent leather platform pumps, this is punk at its edgy-feminine peak. $270.00
