The company will debut handbags at its spring presentation, which takes place Sept. 16 at The Chelsea Art Museum in New York. The collection of 28 clutches and evening cases are as elaborate as the brand?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s dresses, with such details as beading, pleating and corsetry.
Key styles include a silver clutch with a profusion of beading and embroidery in an elongated oval shape and clutches with tassels. There are also exotic skins such as alligator, crocodile and lizard done in rich colors like aubergine and ochre. The bags will retail from $995 to $5,000 for an exotic skin.
?¢‚Ǩ?ìSome people don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t always have an occasion for a gown,?¢‚Ǩ¬ù said Chapman. ?¢‚Ǩ?ìYou could wear these with jeans and a T-shirt.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù
The company has no plans to launch ancillary categories as of yet, but ?¢‚Ǩ?ìWe always keep our minds open,?¢‚Ǩ¬ù Chapman said coyly. In the past, Marchesa has tapped Christian Louboutin to partner on shoes for presentations. See entire article at WWD

Anyone who lived through the 80s has cringe-inducing photos documenting the looks of the time: aggressive hair, giant shoulder pads, overly dramatic makeup … But there are some designers out there who are reinterpreting some of the good stuff from the 80s: the originality, the boldness, and the frank sexiness.

Emilio Pucci Dresses
A good place to start is with this Patchwork Cap-Sleeve dress by Emilio Pucci. Sure, Pucci may be best known for bright, abstract prints, but here the swirly aesthetic is put to use dramatically in shades of black, with solid and transparent patches. It gives a whole new definition to “patchwork.” Length is just under 20 inches from natural waistline. $1,860.00

Kate Spade Sandals
Kate Spade is an expert at knowing just how far to push a trend so as to maximize the use of her pieces in your wardrobe. These Kate Spade Women’s Glamour Sandals are no exception. The sexy T strap lengthens the leg, while grosgrain ribbon laces through the chain strap. Suede uppers. $299.00

Rebecca Minkoff Handbags
There was a certain tough-girl chic in the 80s that was expressed through bold, dark make-up and the use of studded leather. Rebecca Minkoff brings back the studded leather in the Stud Devote Tote. It is a black leather handbag with rings, gold studs, and a belted top. Closure is magnetic and the inside lining is tan and blue striped. It has two open pockets and one zip pocket inside. A roomy 17 x 11 x 7.5 inches, with a 31 inch adjustable strap, the tote is $695.00

I was really never a big fan of Coach handbags until the past two years. I must say Coach really has stepped up their game with luxury handbags. I have had a change of heart and I am totally considering a Coach purchase. I am so drooling over the new Cambridge Collection. My top two favorites are the Fringe Alexa and the leather Alexa Satchel. What do you guys think? Would you purchase either of these two styles?

Leather Alexa Satchel - $648

Fringe Large Alexa - $1,200
The Fringe Alexa is the collection?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s centerpiece, with subdued studding, a mixed woven leather and chain handle, and of-the-moment fringe detailing giving this piece the ultimate in haute hippie flair. Bright metallics return this season and the Metallic Textured Cambridge Clutch and Metallic Alexa mix this trend with tough texture and perforated leather for an effect that is undeniably modern and edgy.

Foley + Corinna Small Convertible Leather Tote, $198, saksfifthavenue.com
Handbags are my true weakness. Okay, and shoes, and accessories, okay FASHION. But handbags, I love. To get more mileage out of a bag purchase, I’ve been looking to buy one of the fall’s convertible bags. You know, something that goes from shoulder to tote, or hobo to hip-slung with a quick switch of a strap. I love the color, texture and bohemian simplicity of the Kooba tied convertible hobo bag. And I feel like I could honestly carry this Foley + Corinna convertible small leather tote in red almost every day. It goes from shoulder to tote so flawlessly, and the scale is just adorable.
