H&M has teamed up with exciting designers in the past, and Saturday, November 20 the long-anticipated Lanvin for H&M collection hit the stores in what was a very exciting event right on the cusp of the Christmas shopping season. In 24 stores across the U.S., Lanvin made its H&M debut, and at New York’s Fifth Avenue store, more than 300 shoppers had lined up before the opening.
Once the doors were opened, the shoppers descended, and soon wallets were opening as well, with some shoppers spending well over $1,000 on the new merchandise. One shopper told NYmag.com she spent “the most I’ve ever spent in my life,” at the event. While shoppers praised the quality of the French fashion house’s collection for H&M, some lamented the “itsy bitsy” sizes. Dresses, jackets, and accessories that emphasize femininity are the hallmarks of the women’s collection, while the men’s collection emphasizes everything that is smart and handsome, with bold new takes on traditional menswear.
