Jessica Simpson takes a lot of flak for every five pound weight gain or loss, as well as some smack-talking by indiscreet former boyfriends (*cough* John Mayer *cough*), but she manages to maintain a positive attitude, recently telling People magazine that her current role model is none other than First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama. Simpson told the magazine she admires Mrs. Obama’s confidence, saying, “She’s such an incredible woman, and she’s with such a powerful man.”
Simpson recently attended the White House Press Correspondent’s Dinner, along with other celebrities that included Michael Douglas and Kristen Davis. Comedian and fellow attendee Bill Mahar commented on the “intellectual heavyweights” in attendance, saying that he had seen the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber and “couldn’t wait to talk politics.”
During her outing (in which she wore a yellow dress), Simpson told US Magazine that she may or may not have someone special in her life: “I have some situations that I am feeling out.”
She also explained how she maintains her sense of self esteem, telling US, “Eat whatever makes you feel good. Workout whenever you want to. Just take care of yourself.” After being dumped by football star Tony Romo earlier this year, she was recently linked to rock musician Billy Corgan, though both parties are keeping any details of their relationship to themselves.
