Sounds like a great way to end the summer: England’s Prince William and longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton are enjoying a quick getaway to the Caribbean, staying on the island Mustique in a £2000 per night clifftop villa. According to the Sunday Mirror, the two are “having a fantastic time.” The mansion at which the two are staying comes complete with an infinity pool, its own beach, and a team of eight servants.
Kate will probably forgo horseback riding on the beach, since she is allergic to horses. She recently let slip that she has to watch William’s polo matches at a distance due to her allergies.
In other royal news, rumor has it that the lovely young couple will spend the August bank holiday (Aug. 31) at Balmoral with the Queen. Court insiders say that the visit is significant, and they speculate that the meeting will go well, partly due to Kate’s love for shooting. It won’t be the first time the potential princess has met the Queen. She was introduced at Peter Philips’ wedding to Autum Kelly in May of 2008.
The recent flurry of news about the couple has of course stoked rumors that a wedding could be in the future. Betting shops in England are taking odds of 2 to 1 that William will propose before the end of 2009.
