Knot Details Love or Hate?

0 Comments 14 December 2010

Knot details are really coming into their own in dresses this season. This fashion style is a slightly different take on the draping of “goddess” style dresses – more modern and edgy. Done well, knot details add interest and curves without adding bulk. We’re seeing them at the hip, the waist, and the center of the bust. It’s a great look for boyish figures that want to add some curves.

You’ll even find knot details on fashion accessories, specifically hobo-style handbags. Fashion designers Burberry and Marc Jacobs make pricey versions, but you can also find the style in non-designer bags.

Knot detailing is a bit different from ruching, and is usually flattering to a greater variety of figure types. Mostly this is a monochromatic detail, though you do occasionally see it with prints. What do you think? Love it or hate it?
