Loving Stripes for Spring

2 Comments 13 April 2010

There’s something about stripes that go with spring, and this year there are plenty of options to choose from.

The  Robert Rodriguez Slouch Mini Stripe Dress has a bateau neckline that elongates the neck, has a blouson bodice and pin tucks at the skirt with a gathered elastic waist. It also has an asymmetrical hem, one of the hottest looks currently. Wear it with flat sandals for casual Saturdays.
The Muriel Stripe Tank Dress from Marc by Marc Jacobs is a casual, playful striped dress that features side ties, pockets, and gorgeous spring-bright colors in a fit and flare shape. Perfect with canvas espadrilles for a picnic or taking in a baseball game.

Nautical stripes were hot in the 80s and they’re back for 2010. The Eighties Dress by T-Los Angeles has gathered sleeves, navy and white stripes, and has a fitted mini skirt. Add a pair of white patent leather sandals and you’re good to go.

The  Mink Pink Cookie Cutter Striped Dress has tiny white and black stripes, a loose fitting silhouette, and an asymmetric hem. You could wear it as the perfect beach cover-up, or over a fitted pink tee with black sandals for a fresh, casual look.

  1. There’s nothing like Spring to give us all a fresh outlook on life, fashion and everything in general. Stripes are synonomous with Springtime!

I love stripes, however is they are horizontal it can sometimes make you look wide. Vertical stripes will make you look slimmer. However, I do prefer horizontal stripes; I just make sure that the dress/shirt is tight enough or short enough to show that I am not as wide as it may seem.
