New York Fashion Week Fall 2010 BCBG

1 Comment 15 February 2010

Last Thursday in New York, BCBG paraded a number of layered dresses down the runway. The vibe Thursday was muted, as everyone tried to take in the news of the death by suicide of Alexander McQueen in London. The news came out just as the BCBG models took their encore walk, and it was clear that the editors and other audience members were distracted.

BCBG’s looks included many softly draped, asymmetrical dresses with sheer panels and cutouts. Colors included plenty of grey and black, but some vivid whites and yellows also. One look that appeared eminently wearable by actual humans was the sheer crew-neck tops worn underneath wrap or bandage style dresses. With a dressy coat and heels, these looks could easily go out to date night or to a party. The most “edgy” design feature was some stud trim done subtly, which frankly felt like a relief after the studded everything being worn this winter. Alas, most of the editorial attendees had to be practical and wear functional, stout boots to cope with all the snow New York has received in the past week.

  1. Wow. They had dresses that normal people can actually wear?! I love the green dress. It’s so pretty!
