(Los Angeles) – In partnership with specialty retailer, PAPYRUS, celebrity designer Rami Kashoú unveiled his new couture design during Fashion’s Night Out, held at the Beverly Center. The groundbreaking Project Runway designer created a signature evening gown made completely of PAPYRUS premium greeting cards and paper goods.
Kashoú sought out to create a dramatic and fairytale-like, Origami flamenco gown, that exuded a sense of life and celebration. The designer accomplished this by applying his aesthetic with three-dimensional effects, electric colors, shimmering movements and intricate origami details to highlight vibrant color contrasts.
“The union between PAPYRUS and the Rami Kashoú Brand is an incredible partnership,” Kashoú said. “We both share a high appreciation for fashion and an intense attention to detail. Together we reached our goal by empowering the world to imagine beyond limits.
“We thank Rami for his extraordinary vision and helping us in making this momentous collaboration possible,” PAPYRUS CEO, Dominique Schurman said. Rami’s ‘Origami’ Couture gown is the first of many illustrious displays of Fashion on Paper the public can anticipate in the upcoming months.” The unprecedented alliance between PAPYRUS and the acclaimed designer became an instant FNO favorite. Nadia Alexandria of Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency modeled the dress, with hair and make-up done by celebrity stylist Clark Russell, who also made a special appearance. Thousands of FNO attendees lined up to view the dress while Kashou conducted a special signing on PAPYRUS-made limited edition prints of the couture design.
