Safari Look for Summer

1 Comment 15 June 2011

The Safari look or more precisely, the safari-inspired look refers to the adaptation of the clothing worn by hunters on safaris in Africa. The look can refer to vests, skirts, dresses or trousers. Most will have several pockets and will be beige, tan, khaki and sometimes white or olive colored. In some cases, the safari look also refers to the adaptation of tribal wear, for example in Diane von Furstenberg’s white safari jacket with a scarf-wrapped head. The safari look pops up here and there every year with some modifications. It seems to be here to stay for a while.

Nation Ltd’s antique olive safari jacket is a classic example of how the safari look should be in an urban setting. Casually worn with beige jeans, it looks rustic and the perfect wear for active young women.

Strong and Dickerson shift towards the upper class with a Safari vest for the summer. The vest is sculpted for the feminine shape and has a wide belt, serving as a sash. A very high-end casual wear that is just perfect for the long summer.
