Scarlett Johansson, recent star of He’s Just not that into You, will release an album of duets with songwriter Pete Yorn in September. She recorded the album, titled Break Up a few years ago, but Yorn had decided not to release it until recently. He wrote eight of the nine songs on the album. The ninth song is a cover version of “Big Star.” Yorn recently finished up a tour where he opened for Coldplay, and he has a new album coming out June 23. Yorn has played with the likes of the Foo Fighters, Weezer, The Dixie Chicks, and R.E.M.
Johansson has not lacked for work either. She recently appeared on the cover of the French version of Elle magazine wearing hardly any makeup. It follows up a French Elle series of eight covers for June, which featured Eva Herzigova, Charlotte Rampling, and Sophie MarceauÂ and others without makeup in what many fashion pundits are calling a backlash against the high levels of photoshopping done on magazine covers.
