One of the hottest venues for celebrity fashion trend makers this week has sadly been a memorial service for the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen. Famous attendees included Sarah Jessica Parker, Anna Wintour, Kate Moss, Bjork, and Naomi Campbell. The service on Monday paid tribute to the designer, who killed himself in February, apparently extremely distraught over the recent death of his mother.
The memorial service for fashion industry icon McQueen took place at London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral, and featured a Scottish piper playing “Braveheart” and Bjork singing a haunting rendition of the song “Gloomy Sunday,” a song about contemplating suicide that was first made famous by the late Billie Holiday. The service was produced by McQueen’s good friend and long-time fashion show producer Sam Gainsbury.
