Summer Basics Get A Not-So-Basic Upgrade With Burnout

0 Comments 23 July 2010

Sure, burnout tees have been popular for awhile, but now they’re becoming even more of a staple in the realm of all sorts of basics — cardigans, tanks, tees, cotton dresses, you name it! After all, I’m all about comfort, but I also like to feel somewhat sexy as often as I can help it, even if I’m just throwing on something quick for a laid-back run to Starbucks. I like a bit of mystery, even in just my jeans and a tee, so if there’s a chance for me to show a bit of skin — even if it’s through the slinky sheerness of my coziest tank — I’ll take it!

Burnout fabric mixes the best of both worlds — it looks and feels well-worn without the time and abuse that goes into a few hundred tumble-dries, and also looks more alluring than your average cotton tee with its semi-sheerness. I prefer burnout to the completely sheer tanks and tops that are in this season just because it’s a bit more subtle and doesn’t require extra layers to preserve my modesty! Comfort and upgraded sexiness? Sounds like a win-win to me!
