Fashion designer Jack McCollough who Kiefer Sutherland allegedly head-butted

Monday evening, at the Costume Institute’s gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, former American television President Jack Bauer, who is really actor Kiefer Sutherland, head butted a fashion designer in defense of actress and former model Brooke Shields. Accounts of what went down differ between Sutherland and Shields, with Sutherland saying that it appeared as if fashion designer Jack McCollough of label Proenza Schuler knocked Shields over. Shields denies this, saying that McCollough bumped her by accident, and that there was no need for Sutherland’s actions, which broke McCollough’s nose.

While Sutherland may only face a misdemeanor assault charge in New York, he may be in deeper trouble in Los Angeles. He is currently on a five-year probation term due to a second DUI last year. According to the terms of probation, Sutherland is required to obey all laws.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney told People magazine that the office planned to review the specifics of the case in order to determine if Sutherland violated the terms of his probation. If he was intoxicated at the time of the attack, Sutherland could spend at least six weeks in jail.

There has been no official word as to whether McCollough will file a lawsuit against Sutherland.

I think it would be best at the dinner, because the reception usually has lots of speeches already and this will be a bit different. I think content wise it should be a female version of the best man’s speech.
