Soul singer Amy Winehouse is suing Blake Fielder-Civil’s mother Georgette Civil for copyright infringement. She is accused of selling one of the love letters Winehouse wrote to Blake Fielder-Civil while he was in jail. The damages she is seeking are unspecified. She and Blake were granted a decree nisi July 16, meaning that around the end of August, her divorce will become final.

Meanwhile Winehouse’s mother has said that she is concerned that Amy and Fielder-Civil will reunite. Though the two were granted a divorce last month (which becomes final later this month), Fielder-Civil said they had been in contact, and that he wanted to get back together. Janis Winehouse said to Closer magazine that Amy was still in love with Fielder-Civil even though “she knows he’s bad for her.”

However, Winehouse isn’t sitting around doing nothing. She surprised the V Festival last weekend singing backup for the Specials, which marked her first UK performance in nearly one year. Winehouse has only recently returned from the eastern Caribbean island of St. Lucia, where she’s spent most of this year. At one point she was scheduled to perform for the St. Lucia jazz festival, but the appearance was later canceled.

At the V Festival, Winehouse ran onto the stage in the middle of Pete Doherty’s set, kissed him, and hid behind a drum kit. Doherty dedicated a song to him, and the two were seen leaving the stage arm-in-arm.
