David Beckham
After a rumoured three years worth of negotiation, Angelina Jolie has signed up as the face of an Armani fragrance. Meanwhile, football star David Beckham, who has a £20 million contract with Armani as the company’s global ambassador, and Victoria Beckham, who has a £12 million contract with Armani’s lingerie line, have appeared together in racy lingerie ads for Armani that should make it into magazines and onto billboards later this month.
As for the idea of putting Beckham and Jolie in an ad together, it’s already been much thought about, though no clear plans have been announced. In the Daily Star, an industry source said, “She is arguably the world’s biggest woman star and he is the most sought-after man. Putting them in front of a camera together would be electric.”
Has anyone bothered to ask Mrs. Beckham and Jolie’s significant other Brad Pitt if they mind their other halves appearing in an ad together? It’s been discussed, but negotiations are being handled delicately due to the potentially upsetting nature of the situation.
Jolie’s contract has nothing to do with Armani underwear, however. She is to headline an ad campaign for a new Armani scent that will debut later this year.

Angelina Jolie was spotted wearing one of her favorite Gerard Darel dresses in Los Angeles yesterday. This isn’t the first time this stylish mother of six has sported this flowing ‘Angel’ dress – Angie was seen wearing a black version of the tie-waist tiered maxi back in October. While she wore the dress with spaghetti straps in the autumn, Angie opted for a chocolate brown strapless look yesterday. Wearing a lavender Gerard Darel top, daughter Zahara seems to be following in her mom’s famous fashion footsteps.
Angelina’s Gerard Darel ‘Angel’ dress is available at select Bloomingdales locations for $548.00

Angelina Jolie turns 34 today, and what a birthday it is. Forbes just named her the number one most powerful celebrity in the world for their annual Celebrity 100 list. To be at the top of this totem pole, she had to beat out people like Oprah Winfrey, who fell to second place.
Factors in Forbes’ choice of Jolie include the fact that she has doubled her earnings over the past year, is the most famous star in the world right now, and is part of the “dialogue of popular culture nearly every day” due to her philanthropic work, her partner Brad Pitt, and her brood of children.
These qualities allowed Jolie to knock Winfrey from the top spot – which she held for two years in a row – even though her earnings are about one tenth as much as the talk show icon.
To create the list, Forbes considers media exposure and entertainment related earnings. This year’s top ten is dominated by women. The highest ranking man is Tiger Woods, at number 5. In third place is Madonna, partly due to her latest tour. In fourth place is singer/actress Beyonce Knowles, which was also her ranking last year. Numbers 6 through 10 are as follows: Bruce Springsteen, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, and Kobe Bryant.

Shoppers at a CVS drugstore in Oyster Bay, New York near Long Island were surprised to see mega star couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie along with two of their children shopping for nuts and tuna fish. The genetically blessed family was also seen at a Dunkin Donuts grabbing a bite to eat. It turns out that the Jolie-Pitt family is renting a home over the bay, but for how long, nobody knows.
Everyone who has interacted with them has described the couple as being friendly, but appearing out of place due to their stunning good looks. According to a local store manager, the celebrity family acted like regular shoppers, pushing their daughters in shopping carts and picking items off the shelves. By the time their shopping was done, people were running up the block to see them – most likely the result of hasty text messages received from shoppers who spotted Jolie and Pitt.
A local resident described Jolie as “looking great” wearing leggings and sunglasses. She also stopped to sign a few autographs, according to the resident.
But not everything can be perfect, even the lives of perfect looking mega stars. Jolie and Pitt are fighting a tell-all book that is being shopped around to publishers by a former bodyguard named Mickey Brett. Though no publisher has taken on the project, the Pitts have struck a few early blows, telling news reporters that Brett has been arrested multiple times and was once questioned over a murder. In addition, he signed a confidentiality agreement to work with the couple.

Angelina Jolie
In celebrity news…
After meeting with best-selling author Patricia Cornwell, Angelina Jolie has agreed to star in an adaptation of Cornwell’s books whose main character is the opera loving medical examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta. Fox 2000 is acquiring the screen rights to Cornwell’s series of novels that center on Scarpetta.
Cornwell has written 16 Scarpetta novels, which gives the film the opportunity to turn into a franchise, but the first film will not be based on one specific Cornwell title.
Once Jolie confirmed that she was interested in the series, her agency, ICM, and Fox 2000 representatives negotiated for months to come up with a plan acceptable to Cornwell, who was extremely protective of her literary property. Eventually, Jolie and her manager met with Cornwell and agreed to a shared creative direction for the feature film.
The latest Cornwell novel, titled simply Scarpetta, was released in December 2008 by Putnam.
Jolie is currently starring in the movie Salt, directed by Phillip Noyce for Columbia. She is also set to once again lend her voice to the Tigress character in a sequel to Kung Fu Panda, and is considering a yet-to-be-written script for a sequel to the movie Wanted.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hit up a suburban grocery store with two of their kids Saturday afternoon, a Stop & Shop employee tells Us. “They were here for 30 minutes and left,” Monira Ahmed, who works in customer service, says of the pair — who are staying on New York’s Long Island while she films thriller Salt. Apparently Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been arguing lately. Jolie is spending 15-hour days working on demanding action flick Salt. For the role, she has lost weight and done intensive physical training.
Reports in The Daily Mail say an exhausted Jolie recently arrived home from a long day at work on the movie to find Pitt watching DVDs and drinking beer in their bedroom while the pair’s six children were wreaking havoc downstairs. This is said to be the second big argument between Jolie and Pitt during the last few weeks.
There are also reports that the two are sleeping apart during Jolie’s grueling filming schedule, and that Jolie is spending much less time with Pitt and the children than before, which is only logical since she is working such long hours.
Meanwhile, Pitt may soon be starring with Natalie Portman in a romantic comedy with the exhausting title Important Artifacts and Personal Property From the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion, and Jewelry, by New York Times Op-Ed editor Leanne Shapton.
The book, optioned recently by Paramount, is in the form of an estate auction catalog with entries that tell the story of the failed relationship between a photographer in his 40s and a food columnist in her 20s.
