Elizabeth Arden Prevage Moisturizer Product Review

Posted on 06 October 2008 by Wendy O

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Total Body Transforming Anti-Aging Moisturizer, 6.8 oz, $135.00

Once again, Elizabeth Arden has come to the rescue. As if they were reading my mind and could tell that I wanted to do something about the condition of my skin, along comes the Prevage line. Even though I’m still in my mid-20’s, pregnancy, weight loss, acne and other scars have left my bod looking like a battlefield. I’m not one to go under the knife (ok, if I get a turkey neck down the road, I’ll probably have a lift or two), so for me, a topical solution is the answer.

So what does the Prevage line promise to do? Amazingly, a number of things…using their unique formula of Idebenone, an antioxidant, Prevage has been clinically tested and proven to reduce the look of minor scars, stretch mark, sun damage and even dimpled skin. It has even been proven to reduce the look of age spots and discoloration in as little as six weeks.

I’ve only been using this product for about a week, so you’ll have to tune in for my follow up to see what kind of results I get. It has a light fragrance that disappears shortly after it absorbs into your skin, so it won’t clash with perfumes. Even though this product is meant for the body, I’m tempted to try it on the acne scars on my face to see if I get any results. But trust me…this is not just another moisturizer. Sure, the price tag is pretty steep, but consider how much it would cost to go to a derm and get your face professionally sand blasted. This is a considerably less invasive, more affordable and easier solution, in my opinion.

So check back with us in mid-December to see how my Prevage test run went…check out Elizabeth Arden’s website in the mean time and snag some if you can’t wait that long. Trust me, no matter your age, we all have sun damage, acne scars or stretch marks we’d rather make disappear. Hopefully Prevage is the answer!

Fall Makeup Trends: Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Eyeshadow Review

Posted on 27 August 2008 by Wendy O

Eyes by Elizabeth Arden

Just when I was beginning to tire of my eye makeup routine, Elizabeth Arden did it again…as if they were reading my mind, they have come out with a new palette of fun fall hues. And on the top of my wishlist? Navy blue mascara with matching eyeshadow. This combination is the perfect compliment to looks that are coming out this fall (hello heavy bangs and winter floral dresses!).

Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Duo in Peacock, $24.50

Now I know what you may be thinking; blue eyeshadow? I was skeptical too…before I got this lovely duo, I dismissed blue eyeshadow as something I wore in middle school, sadly paired with deep red matte lipstickĀ  (hey, it was the 90’s, okay?). I couldn’t have been more wrong…the Peacock duo is a rich combination of deep teal and powdery light blue that when blended just right, makes for a stunning evening eye. Pair this shadow with navy mascara and you can create a look straight from the pages of next month Vogue.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Mascara in Midnight, $20.00

Still not sold on blue? Elizabeth Arden is on top of all of the fall makeup trends and offers a great range of colors in their Color Intrigue line. I’m also a big fan of the Black Currant duo which brings in smoky plums and lilacs that will also be hot this season. All seven of these duos are offered in sleek, limited edition compacts featuring one of Elizabeth Arden’s favorite quotes; “To be beautiful and natural is the birthright of every woman.”

This fall, get a little adventurous and break out of your usual makeup routine…create “intriguing” looks with Elizabeth Arden’s limited edition collection. Your lips just might get jealous.
