Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt

Reality television fixtures Heidi Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt have added another dog to their family. The new puppy, named Inky, is a maltipoo (a hybrid Maltese and poodle). Inky is the little sister of Dolly, also a maltipoo, who Spencer presented to Heidi for her 23rd birthday last month.

Spencer was quite pumped about obtaining a male dog, telling People magazine that the pup’s full name is “Inky the Ninja.”

In other Heidi Montag news, in addition to becoming “mom” to a second dog, she’s going to substitute for Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View on Oct. 1. Hasselbeck is on maternity leave with her third child. Montag has appeared on The View before, as a guest, along with Pratt. At that time View co-host Whoopi Goldberg warned the fame-chasing couple that they need to develop some talent beyond being on reality television staples.

Tension and fireworks are expected on the set on Oct. 1, as are high ratings.

Other “skills” that Montag is tapping to extend her allotted 15 minutes of fame as long as possible include releasing a CD, launching her own fashion line, and conveniently appearing in a bikini in places papparazzi are known to swarm.
