Designer Spotlight: Naeem Khan

Posted on 02 December 2009 by Tara Decoda

We all know how benefitting it can be for a young designer (a la Jason Wu) when their creations get spotted on First Lady Michelle Obama. They can go from, “who are you?” to “we have Oprah on line 1 for you” with a snap of a picture. Seems when Mrs. Obama wore a beautiful gown designed by Indian-American designer Naeem Khan last week for the first State dinner at the White House, everyone started wondering who he is, how long he’s been around, and where they can get there hands on a creation:

Naeem Khan is no rookie to the fashion game, presenting his first collection in 2005 at Olympus Fashion Week. Since then, he has been on a role and garnered an impressive following of some of today’s top models, singer’s, actresses and most recently the First Lady:

daycream
M. Asam Tinted Day Cream – HSN Price: $24.95

I really loved this product. It has a smooth even finish upon application. And also a wonderful scent. Which I have found generic throughout the m.asam collection. If you like a light cream and foundation in one. Instead of a mineral make-up, this is a nice choice. Also I do enjoy the packaging and presentation of the m.asam brand. Being a european brand, you can tell that the beauty boutique essentials are in the details.

Here are some great tips to remember with tinted moisturizers;

1. Remember to match your color correctly. Best done with a small sample on your jaw line.
2. Tinted Moisturizers are great for a natural look.
3. Mix your concealer and moisturizer together for areas that need more attention, i.e. dark circles.

“This product is amazing.. I added a small amount using my foundation brush for a nice even coverage. And presto! I had a nice clean coverage. I think for those of you that don’t like to wear heavy foundation and just want something that even outs your skin tone I would highly recommend purchasing TagesCreme tinted DayCream.”

Nice berries, pinks, and darker shades of eye shadows. (My personal favorite is the dark grey with glitter). And of course those lighter beiges for a softer look.
