Nicole Richie went to Cedars Sinai Hospital after her car was rear-ended by a photographer in Beverly Hills Monday afternoon. Husband Joel Madden rushed to the scene to console his shaken but uninjured wife, who was driving without her bodyguard when she was hit from behind. The photographer involved in the crash was arrested for driving without a license. Richie left with a friend to the hospital for precautionary measures.
Monday afternoon clothing and jewelry designer Nicole Richie was in a car accident on Wilshire Blvd. in Beverly Hills when a papparazzo in the car behind her rear ended her Land Rover. He was driving without a license when the accident happened and was arrested at the scene. The cars were not at a traffic light when the accident took place, but police would not say if the driver that hit Richie was speeding or not.
Police reported that Richie complained of pain, but wanted to seek treatment on her own, so no ambulance was summoned.
The police confirmed that the driver of the car that hit Richie, Edwardo Arrivebene was arrested for driving without a license. Police didn’t know if there were passengers in Arrivebene’s car. Richie had an unnamed adult passenger in her car. Richie just gave birth to her second child, son Sparrow, last month. Richie and Joel Madden also have a daughter Harlow who is two. Neither child was a passenger in the car at the time of the accident.
Later, People magazine confirmed that Richie went to a hospital later in the day, accompanied by her mother. Her car was reported to have “moderate” damage.

Expectant mother was photographed with her partner Joel Madden enjoying a day on Malibu Beach earlier this week. Richie was wearing a black bikini, oversized sunglasses, and a scarf wrapped around her hair. Looking radiant with an enormous tummy, Nicole made no attempt to hide her advanced pregnancy. The couple has a one-year-old daughter named Harlow, and the new baby is due in September.
Nicole has said the she plans to marry Madden someday, but a wedding is not part of the plans yet. “I think for both of us, we are going to do it because we want to, not because that’s what you do,” she says in The Daily Mail.
In preparing the new nursery in their Los Angeles home, Richie and Madden are trying to make every detail eco-friendly. All wood furniture is made from sustainable-harvest wood, the linens are organic cotton, and low-vapor paint was used in decorating.
Grandpa-to-be Lionel Richie is thrilled to be welcoming the new grandchild. He told The Daily Mail that Joel hopes it’s a boy, and Nicole would like another girl.
Besides being a new mom, Richie has recently started her own line of jewelry, and plans to design maternity wear for clothing company A Pea in the Pod.

The baby clothes of 15-month-old Harlow, daughter of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, are being auctioned off on www.handmedowns.com until April 17. The auction will raise money for the Richie Madden Foundation, a charitable organization that helps disadvantaged children.
Items up for bid include tiny moccasins, Mary Jane shoes, a rainbow striped cashmere sweater, and a Ralph Lauren hoodie sweatshirt with flower lining. You can also register on the site to win a 3-piece Orbit Baby system, which includes a car seat and carrier.
Next month, movie star Angelina Jolie, mother of six, will clean out her babies’ closets and place her children’s baby clothes up for auction on handmedown.com.
The Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation was created to improve health care and education for needy children. The Richie-Madden Foundation has drawn attention to projects such as UNICEF’s Tap Project, which tries to provide safe drinking water to some of the 900 million people in the world who do not have access to clean water.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden went to Coffee Bean in Hollywood.
Actors Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker seen coming out of Cipriani’s restaurant together after being in there for 3 hours. When they finally came out, the didn’t seem to want to be photographed as Sarah Jessica Parker covered her face where possible with her hair.
