Despite reports of a break up made public, Milan Fashion Week brought Jermaine Dupri and Janet Jackson back together once again. The two were seen together on Friday, the 25th of September holding conversation with Donatella Versace. After all that Janet has dealt with in light of losing her brother, has Jermaine come to her side to provide emotional support?

Can Pucci move beyond prints? The fact is that it has to, which is a concept that Peter Dundas, the house’s new designer, seems to understand. His first collection had all the signs of a new direction: new venue, chosen to reflect the splendor of Palazzo Pucci in Florence; new light-speed pace, and new clothes of the sexy, party-girl variety.

For fall, a number of designers are choosing to stare down the recession with in-your-face fashion, often Eighties-inspired. Count Gucci’s Frida Giannini squarely in that category. The collection Giannini showed on Saturday was inspired by Tina Chow and, as the program notes read, “a glittering, glamorous time, when going out was a way of life.” But refinement, not so much.
