Murmurings about sequined leggings began about a year ago, and the buzz has grown almost deafening with the contribution of Custo Barcelona’s take on the look. Custo Barcelona, the design house from Spain, will use the largest venue in Bryant Park for their Spring 2010 collection because of the major media attention the brand has attracted. Custo, from Barcelona, takes many of his fashion cues from southern California beach culture. Custo Barcelona’s clientele are cosmopolitan, fashion forward men and women from all over the world who love his combination of European style and casual American comfort.

While the economy may be tough for most people these days, Custo Barcelona is growing and branching out. One of the designer’s latest projects was designing both the interior and exterior of MTV Networks Iberia’s three Vueling planes for summer travel in the Mediterranean.
The excitement over Custo Barcelona’s clothing is largely because of his original take on graphic design: it’s like Emilio Pucci meets Andy Warhol. The brand includes swimwear, suits, tees, and now, the up-and-coming trend of sequined leggings.
