Victoria Beckham spent last Friday in Boston, Massachusetts as a temporary replacement of Paula Abdul on the judging panel for American Idol. Because things were said to have gone so splendidly when she helped judge auditions in Denver earlier, she was once again asked for her services in Boston. She joined Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, and songwriter Kara DioGuardi in preparation for the upcoming season.

She arrived with her hair backcombed in a lace headband and dramatic make-up, wearing a red Carmontelle cashmere-blend dress, a design which has recently been seen on Elle McPherson and Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester. With it she wore red patent platform heels.

Despite it being her second appearance as a judge on American Idol, Beckham insists that she is only a temporary replacement. Her representative told members of the press that she was concentrating her energies on the upcoming New York Fashion Week.

While Mrs. Beckham was busy in Boston, her husband David Beckham and their 10-year-old son Brooklyn arrived back in L.A. after having visited the Netherlands for a football match. Brooklyn and the couple’s other two sons were apparently behind their mum’s appearance on American Idol, one of their favorite TV shows.

The new advertising campaign was shot in Milan, once again by renowned fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and will appear in fashion and lifestyle magazines and on signature billboards in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Rome, Paris and Tokyo, from July 2009 onwards.

In 2007 she had a cameo part in Ugly Betty, a show she favors because of its fashion focus. Between Emporio Armani, Marc Jacobs, and dVb, former Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham is never at a loss for an attention grabbing look. The Marc Jacobs muse, Armani lingerie model, and designer is also managing her own fashion label. Her line, dVb is planning to begin denim production in-house. The company has also come to a licensing agreement with Cutler and Gross for production of its sunglasses line. Her dBv dress collection is already produced in London.

Recent Victoria sightings in New York have shown her wearing a charcoal grey ensemble with the early-sixties style small waist, flared skirt combo that is commonly seen on the American television drama Mad Men, which is shown on BBC4.

Beckham paired the outfit with a pair of ruby red pumps and a red and white leather handbag.

The other night, Beckham glammed it up for the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.?Ǭ† The theme for the gala was ?¢‚Ǩ?ìModel as Muse: Embodying Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù For that event, Beckham wore an asymmetrically designed dotted frock designed by Marc Jacobs that featured a sweeping train. She accessorized the look with a pair of Louis Vuitton heels and a ruby ring by Chopard. Beckham is Jacobs?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ current muse, despite murmurs that Jacobs was courting movie star Anne Hathaway for that honor.

While the gala was going on, Beckham?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s husband, football superstar David Beckham was on his way from Italy to London so he could watch Manchester United, his former team, defeat Arsenal by a score of 3-1.
