Is it just me, or do some of the selections from the Vivienne Tam Fall 2009 preview lookbook look like they would work for late winter/early spring, too? Like this petal-ruffled top and skirt. The fuchsia colored top is a glorious color, suitable for weather that?「どィび「s warming up. And with a skirt the color of purple irises, this model almost looks like a spring flower herself. The look of the cinched, high waist is starting to grow on me. It is a much softer take on the cinched waists of the late 1980s, which were topped with fullback sized shoulder pads in an exaggerated silhouette. While I am totally digging the black stockings and shoes, I think this outfit could work for a spring or early summer wedding, if you were to trade them for strappy sandals.

The lookbook for Vivienne Tam?「どィび「s fall 2009 collection brings to mind crisp blue skies and nippy mornings, with nature?「どィび「s glorious colors putting on their own fashion show. The tweed jacket and skirt shown above manage to be just as work-appropriate as the boring old suit-with-floppy-tie-blouse look that reigned in the 80s, but they are much more feminine and interesting. The contrast of the thick tweed with the sheer blouse is a genius move that allows the wearing of hefty tweeds while the weather is still too warm for fall sweaters under jackets. And of course, you can?「どィび「t go wrong with the combination of black stockings and black shoes, which have been visually elongating legs for years now. No wonder they?「どィび「re classics.
