Posted on 26 October 2009 by Angelique

Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie is the latest high-profile name to join Avon’s growing cast of celebrities, reports today’s Women’s Wear Daily.  “I love the roster of women Avon has supported,” she told the paper.  “Each one is completely different, but they are all wonderful, strong women who have a purpose. It was very important to me to bring what I have to the table. I’m a bit more rock ’n’ roll than some of the other artists, and Avon has really allowed my personality to come through.”  The yet-to-be named women’s fragrance, which will be available next year through Avon sales representatives, is scheduled to launch overseas beginning in the third quarter, followed by the U.S. next fall.

Lindsay Lohan

PARIS — Meet the “Seam Girls.”

In an unusual move to jump-start what has been a sluggish brand rejuvenation, Emanuel Ungaro has tapped an almost unknown chief designer — Estrella Archs — and an “artistic adviser” who is arguably too well-known — Lindsay Lohan.

The Spanish designer and the actress/singer/tabloid sensation are slated to present their first collection in Paris on Oct. 4, likely coming out together at the end of the runway for a bow.

For her part, Lohan, 23, told WWD she hopes to take Ungaro to a “younger place” with a harder fashion edge.

Asked to describe her role in the creative process, Lohan said she “kind of oversees everything [Archs] does, while working with her. Different generations have different ideas. See entire article at Women’s Wear Daily

Singer Taylor Swift may have found her fashion prince, according to WOMEN’S WEAR DAILY.

The 19-year-old country singer, whose album “Fearless” has topped the charts for the last seven weeks and includes the hit single “Love Story,” has linked up with Jones Apparel Group’s L.E.I. brand to be the face of its spring and fall ad campaign. The line is sold exclusively at Wal-Mart.

For the February delivery, there will be three styles — a tie-back dress, printed tie-back dress and printed tier dress. Two additional styles are planned for a March 1 delivery. All dresses will retail for $14.

Swift said she plans to wear the dresses throughout the spring and summer, as well as when she’s on tour.

“These are my favorite things to wear,” she said. “When we were designing them, we had so many ideas to work from, and it came down to creating dresses that I would wear. If I couldn’t see myself wearing them, I wasn’t interested in making them.”

And as for Wal-Mart, Swift said she is truly a dedicated shopper.

“I go to Wal-Mart all the time,” she said. “The one in my hometown of Hendersonville, Tenn., is open 24 hours, so I go there a lot to buy DVDs and stuff like that.”
