The Best of Fall Fashion

0 Comments 10 October 2012

Now that the long, lazy days of summer are coming to a close and cooler, crisper fall weather is setting in, it’s time to switch out sundresses and shorts with flats and skinny jeans and get ready for some fun fall fashion. This fall statement pieces are wardrobe staples, and these five pieces are essential to crafting trendy, cool weather style:

Jewel-toned skinny jeans. Colored, statement skinny jeans have been going strong for all of 2012, and the fall season has brought its own take on these bold pants. Deep, jewel-toned skinny jeans are a must-have fashion piece this fall, especially when paired with neutral or chambray button-downs and fun, funky, or animal print flats or heels.

Military inspired pieces. Military jackets and camp shirts are making their rounds again this fall, and the structured, menswear inspired pieces are a great way to offset more feminine jewelry and blouses. They also pair nicely with skinny jeans and sky high heels, helping to add some contrast to an otherwise girly outfit.

Peplum. This season peplum dresses and shirts are all the rage, and the flared waist looks give an otherwise plain sheath dress or shirt a funky, retro vibe. These shirts and dresses (and even skirts!) are perfect for giving girls a little bit of extra curve and sass with their outfits.

Colorblock blouses. The colorblocking trend has been holding strong for a few seasons now, and it’s recently made its way over to button-down shirts. Finding a silky, colorblocked, camp-style shirt is the perfect mix of feminine and masculine, and a white and black colorblocked blouse would pair perfectly with jewel-toned skinny jeans and black heels for a classy, sophisticated look.

Printed pants. Printed pants are making a huge statement this fall, and come in a wide variety of prints and colors. If you’re into making a statement then grab a loud, flashy pair and a side of confidence, and get ready to rock them. If you’re not sure if this trend is for you or not, pick a pair that has a more subdued print and pair them with flats and a neutral shirt. These pants are an accessory all by themselves.

Fall 2012 fashion is all about experimenting with loud, fun clothes. Get out of your comfort zone by mixing and matching feminine pieces with masculine ones and add in plenty of pops of color and statement jewelry for a look that mixes fashion trends with your own unique style.
