“The Little Black Book of Style” by Nina Garcia, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

For those of you out there that have yet to find your fashion bible, look no further than Nina Garcia’s “The Little Black Book of Style.” Author Nina Garcia is best known as the fashion editor for Elle magazine, as well as from the hit show “Project Runway,” and her advice proves that Nina lives and breathes fashion, right down to the cover of this fabulous little guide.

Think that “fashion” is synonymous with “style?” Nina’s handbook begs to differ, and offers simple advice on how to create a stunning style of your own. This book proves that just because something is “in fashion” (ie, trendy) does not mean that it necessarily has to be incorporated into your own style. With simple tips (like finding a great tailor) to surprising methods (like editing your wardrobe and getting rid of EVERYTHING that isn’t fabulous), Nina’s guide is both practical and fun.

Even if you don’t need help with your own personal style (and who doesn’t?) this book still has plenty to offer the fashion-savvy. With insightful tips from contemporary icons like John Galliano, Michael Kors, Vera Wang, Zac Posen and others, anyone can benefit from the wide array of fashion advice within the pages of this book.

If you are looking for a late summer beach read that will have you ready to gear up your own personal style for this fall, then check out Nina Garcia’s “The Little Black Book of Style.” Your closet will thank you.
