Before settling down at the tender age of 54 and making an honest woman out of Annette Bening, Warren Beatty had a reputation for being quite popular with the opposite sex. And with former paramour Jane Fonda, he first had to get past her belief that he was gay.
A recent book about Beatty titled Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America claimed that by “using simple arithmetic” Beatty hooked up with some 12,775 women during his heyday. The book claims to be authorized, but that’s not the case according to Beatty’s lawyer.
Beatty recently issued a statement via his lawyer refuting the book’s claim. Furthermore, he accuses the book of committing an even bigger sin than casting aspersions on the star’s reputation: the sin of being “tedious and boring.” The counselor warns other media from repeating things from the book on the belief that they are true.
Many of the conquests that the book’s author, Peter Biskind alleges were already fairly common knowledge to anyone who didn’t spend the 1970s and 80s living in a cave in Tora Bora. They include Joan Collins, Isabelle Adjani, Leslie Caron, Julie Christie, Madonna, Diane Keaton and, of course, Bening.
