Wear to Work: Menswear for Women

0 Comments 20 February 2008

I don’t know about you, but business attire bores me to tears…there’s only so many ways you can wear a black skirt and black dress pants, right? Most office settings leave little in the way for imagination, but thanks to the re-re-emergence of menswear for women, us office bound fashionistas have a few more options.

What’s so great about menswear for women? Not only can you add these pieces into your work wardrobe, but you can mix them up for the weekend as well. Here are some of my favorite interchangeable femme menswear looks:

Menswear Vests:

Okay, so technically you could steal your boyfriends’ dress vest from his three-piece suit, but it’s going to be way too big. Buy a tailored womens menswear vest to show off your girlish figure. Worn with dress pants and a dress top for work, or a tee and jeans for the weekend, a tailored vest is the most versatile menswear option.

Studded Bucket Bag:

Okay, most men wouldn’t dare carry a fab bag like this, but the distressed leather and hardware on this studded purse evoke a sense of masculinity. Adds a nice pop of color when paired with an otherwise drab office ensemble and also great with jeans and a tee.

 Western Belts:

Slung low over a solid-colored dress or tunic, or simply worn as an accent on dress pants or skirts, a western belt is another fun way to add a bit of masc-femme to your wardrobe. A decorative belt with a western flair is a really fun and easy way to make your office or weekend look stand out.

Add a tailored menswear inspired piece to your wardrobe to give your work or weekend look a lift, and check out TheFind for great deals you can’t resist.
