Winter is my favourite time of year, and with Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year all taking place within a six-week period at the end of the year, there are plenty of social engagements to look forward to! With the onset of the cold weather, may people feel that this is not the right time of year to be flaunting a pair of heels.
I adore wearing high heels, I love the way they make me walk and feel. I’m a good few inches taller in heels, which is great because I’m no model. I disagree with the misconception that heels are unsuitable for the winter months, with all the parties to attend this is the best time of year to rock a pair! I will help you to choose the right heel for the right occasion from winter boots to party heels.
With all the party invitations that are packed into the winter months, it’s important to have a couple of pairs so you can alternate between different outfits and accessories that make you look and feel amazing. Don’t let the weather put you off wearing those perfect heels, I find that there’s often a good excuse to take a cab to winter parties and therefore even more reason to get the heels out!
This is where you can rock the stilettos – have a look at Luciano Padovan’s Tiffany high heels, they are to die for! They come in grey suede with a blood red heel and a little bow, perfect for winter parties! Look for warm colours in leather or suede for winter.
How to choose a heeled winter boot
Try looking for something with a chunky heel, as stilettos or anything too high will get difficult to walk in if (or when) the snow comes. I would look for a style with a 3-4 inch heel that will support you well. Check out the grips on the sole, a chunky heel teamed with good grips will make for a stable walking experience.
To find out which winter heels are in vogue, get searching online! Check out the Mustang in Grey, Even&Odd’s heeled boots and Anna Field’s collection. All these will make for comfortable walking, while making you look fabulous. Opt for a pair with a fur trim to carry on the winter theme!
You should always match the colour and style of your heels with handbags and accessories. I find that when wearing a brightly coloured heel, something that matches worn in the hair or on your bag will really pull the outfit together. Remember that nothing should put you off the pursuit of looking glamorous, wearing heels is a year-round hobby!
