Mack Prioleau – Awesome One Pot Dishes For a Party

If you are having a party then one of the best dishes that you can prepare is a one pot dish, which is easy to cook and even easier to serve. Whenever you are having a party, preparing food can be a nightmare when you are also supposed to be hosting and there is nothing worse than flip flopping between guests and the kitchen, trying to make sure that everything is at the right temperature when the food comes out, too much stress. It was my buddy Mack Priloeau who first put me on to the idea of one pot dishes, at the time I was having a lot of dinner parties with work, and asked Mack for some recipe ideas, as soon as he mentioned one pot dishes I was completely sold and I have always prepared them like that since then.

For your next party, give these dishes a try.

Paella

I absolutely adore paella and it is not only easy to cook, contrary to what many think, it is even easier to serve. Paella is made using arborio rice with has been cooked with saffron and white wine, with additions such as chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and clams but the choice is really yours in terms of which fillings you look to include the paella. What is great about this dish is that you can cook it a couple of hours before everyone lands, and then simply reheat and serve once the guests arrive. This is a pretty looking dish too, so you could always just put the pan in the middle of the table and let everyone dive in.

Chili Con Carne

Seriously chill con carne is an absolute godsend and if you are hosting a party then this one is going to go down very well. All you need is some mince, beef is preferable, some onions, carrots and most importantly some kidney beans. Mix it all up in a slow cooker with some paprika, some chili powder and let it cook away for as long as you like, then serve it with some sour cream and cheddar cheese grated on top, absolutely delicious and easy to prepare, just what we are looking for.

Pasta Bake

Pasta bakes may not exactly be fine dining but they can be absolutely delicious and your guests will love them. Fresh pasta cooks in less than 4 minutes so all you need is a big pan of that, some great quality tomato sauce, and then you can add some protein such as chicken or tuna to the mix. Leave the pasta to cool and then place it in the fridge, when the guests are on their way simply grate some cheese on top of the pasta with some breadcrumbs, and put it into a piping hot oven for 10 minutes. The pasta will heat, the cheese will melt, the breadcrumbs will be crispy and everyone will be diving in for seconds.

Three super simple and highly tasty dishes for you to try.
